There are a few basic steps to creating an interactive CD or DVD and make it ready for duplication and distribution to your audience. "Authoring" simply means programming the disk to display your information (video, text, graphics, sound, etc.) in just the way you want. This can be as simple as making the CD "auto-run" on a computer and display a video or print file immediately, or as elaborate as a complex, interactive experience that displays multiple information formats.
DVD authoring describes the process of creating a DVD video that can be played on a DVD player. Using DVD Studio Pro as our authoring software, we can segregate each video segment into various sections or "menus". For long videos, we create "chapter markers" or "scene selections" to divide the movie into parts.
